Our Opinion:-

Featuring a sewn in groundsheet, Fibreglass Poles and 120HDE Polyester Flysheets. There is now the Option to add an optional 2 berth Bedroom Annexe to make the Cayman a very flexible driveaway awning, adding bedroom space without losing and living space.

Fibreglass framed Dome Style tents/awnings like the Cayman are generally stronger than Tunnel Style tents/awnings due to the cross over pole configuration. We find Outdoor Revolutions fibreglass poles reliable in use and the advantage of fibreglass poles is the availability and ease of replacement if they become damaged. There is still a big demand for poles awnings over air frame awnings. This is due to the smaller pack size of a poled awning making it easier to store in a campervan where space is at a premium.

The Cayman now features a nice sized stub canopy over the main door. This helps make the door rain safe as it helps minimise rain getting onto the groundsheet when you enter and exit the awning in poor weather and provides a sunshade on those sunny days. The main door has also been rotated 90^0, so it is now on the side. Making it much more campsite friendly as you do not come out of the awning facing the adjoining pitch. You exit alongside your van where you are much more likely to sit out. All 4 side panels can be unzipped to create a gazebo. For 2021 Outdoor Revolution have added more mesh doors & panels including a zip up mesh panel in the main tunnel door, which in conjunction with the mesh door on the front door creates nice airflow through the awning to help minimise condensation.

Outdoor Revolution awnings tend to have a wider height range on the tunnels due to the design of the tunnel sides which have a sleeve with an elastic cord and adjuster allowing you to gather up the fabric. Lots of other brands just sew an elastic into the side and use a webbing strap buckle to give some means of tightening up the fabric.

This model has been produced from a premium ultra-lightweight 120HDE fabric weave, which has been specifically engineered to deliver lightweight, compact and visually contemporary products that pack away neatly into the inclusive carry bag, making it perfect where weight or space limitations are of key consideration. This material incorporates a 3,000mm Hydrostatic Head and employs fully taped seams throughout, meaning it is exceptionally waterproof and rain will simply bead onto the surface, before rolling off. The sleek design lines & classic tri colour livery will coordinate & complement any campervan or motorhome.

Large PVC windows permit an excellent vista of the outside world, from the luxury and convenience of your awning, helping to really encapsulate the surrounding landscape. All windows feature integral toggle-in curtains, which can be rolled-back during the day or closed for complete privacy at night. Ventilation Points aid in reducing condensation by optimising airflow around the awning, and a mesh ventilation fly screen panel on the side door will help to keep insects at bay, whilst retaining a pleasant flow of air. We use 'Phoenix Mesh' in all our awnings which is an assisted-healing ‘smart’ material, with the structurally incorporated ability to repair ‘snag’ damage, typically caused by consistent usage over time. Simply manipulated, it will return to its original form. Full Roll-Back doors surround the awning meaning it can double-up as a free-standing shelter or gazebo in hot weather.
